The Club Road Race Championship takes place over a series of 9 races throughout the year consisting of 3 short races (10k or less), 3 medium (10k—10 miles) and 3 long (more than 10 miles).
The first Traveller to finish in each event scores 10 points, the second 9 etc. At the end of the year, the Champion is the person who scores the most points, withseparate categories for vets and super-vets.
Up to 6 of the nominated events can count towards the Championship. These must include 1 short, 1 medium and 1 long race, together with up to 3 of the other nominated races. Races for the 2010/2011 championship, starting on 1 April, are listed to the right.

Despite the cold and fog, over 600 runners took part in the Barnsley 10k on Sunday 20 November. Tom McNally was first Traveller home, finishing in an excellent 23rd overall and 3rd V45 in a time of 37:15.
Steve Blackford was the second Traveller finishing a time of 42:43, with Vishal Ramdhani taking part in his first Club championship event completing the course in 52:04. Lots of race photographs are available to view on the Flaming Photograhy site:
Pete, Dave and Andy trained really hard for the Arncliffe race, pictured below showing off their new slim-line look!.
Several popular races taking place in the next few weeks are already full. These include the Clowne Half Marathon, Percy Pud 10k, Brass Monkey half and Snake Lane 10. The message therefore is enter early if you want to run and check to see if entries are available on the day before travelling!
The Travellers were out in force at the Arncliffe Fete 4 mile road race on Saturday 13 August, with 11 runners from the Club taking part over an undulating course in the North Yorkshire dales.
Tom McNally was first Traveller home, finishing 6th overall in an excellent time of 23:31. Nichola Sykes was our first lady finisher and second lady overall finishing in 25:56, with Rosalind Bedford winning the LV50 category in a time of 33:52.
As well as the road race, there was a fell race with Pete Hayward, Pete Andrews and Mick Collinson taking part in both events. There was also a village fete to enjoy, with the usual stalls and a strongman competition!
